summer moved on…

after a rather lenghty break from blogging and stuff i am finally back online. or rather i got quite a wake up call to devote some time to the blog again… i got flooded with comment spam this last night and the update to the latest version von WordPress was long overdue. so, where to start with now?

  • i got my “dream system” (i.e. my new computer) up and running for over a month now. the only unexpected thing was that the intel stock cooler fan was waaay to noisy under load. the only viable solution was to watercool the cpu, which works really very well both temperature and noise-wise. i will post some pictures later.
  • i rode many kilometers with my road bike and even in the first half of september we had great cycling weather. although not as hot as in july/august but still warm enough to make the rides enjoyable. now fall is finally here but i am still hoping for a few warm days to take the bike out…

    • well, that is how i spent the summer ‘05. to wrap things up, here are a few random thoughts:
    – is there going to be a fifth season of 24? i am really curious about that since the ending of season four was kind of… unexpected.
    – the podcasting hype hit austria. whoo-hooo… only about a year too late. d’oh.
    – HalfLife2 owns. never seen such realistic water effects in a computer game. but not only the water… everything looks very real, almost hyperreal.
    – Rob Thomas’ solo album “Something To Be” is actually quite good. what is surprising though is that although matchbox twenty is almost unknown in Europe they play Rob Thomas even in shopping malls. (heard “This Is How A Heart Breaks” in the mall today.)
    – as the days are getting shorter and the evenings longer and Blizzard launched brand new PVP and RP-PVP server for World of Warcraft i am back in Azeroth.
