another headline caught my attention: “New York : un hôtel propose un « Martini on the rock » un peu spécial pour la somme de 10000$”. yes, that is right, $10,000 for one cocktail. well, the catch is that this special martini comes with a diamond in it. i picture it being quite a delicious task to actually drink the aforementioned martini without swallowing the diamond. well, apparently there are people who are willing to pay such an enormous sum for a drink. as if the allergy-free cat and the JFK assassination game weren’t already enough! where the hell does tv5 get these weird headlines from?

no tv today

today we (that is my mum and i) made up our mind to have our television set repaired. finally. it is not really broken, but has been acting weird since spring and it drove me really nuts during le Tour de France. when you turn it on, the picture flickers in a random pattern for about 10 minutes and after that it works perfectly. i am not really worried about not having a television set because i can watch digital satellite television right here on the desktop. besides, after the extensive coverage of le sommet de la francophonie, monsieur guintrange is not presenting le journal this week and this is the only program i actually watch on a regular basis.
