orkut explained?
orkut is really a weird place because it has this unique “community” feature that friendster lacked. they are a great way to find people with the same interests. and the range of topics is almost incredible… i was quite surprised to find a Zizek community! i guess that is in essence what orkut is about: finding people that share your interests and exchange ideas. one could argue that you can do that on the Internet as well, but it is not as simple as on orkut. i am not sure if orkut is just a fad or temporary hype or really the beginning of social networking on the web.
