this sci-fi series from the mid-90s is one of the best ever! i like it because it is realistic (as far as science fiction goes) and is set in a probable future when mankind starts to build colonies in space. additionally, i believe it is philosophical and a little unsettling because there are rarely happy endings like in Star Trek or Babylon 5. what a pity they cancelled it after only one season!
