i’m listening…

well, that’s the most famous phrase of Dr Frasier Crane. finally i managed to get through with Babylon 5 and now it’s time for the first season of Frasier, my all-time favorite shrink sitcom. (is there even another one with shrinks? don’t think so..) genereally speaking, i do not like sitcoms because of the canned laughter. i believe it should be up to me to laugh when something is considered to be funny. this is like Zizek always says, “the other is laughing / enjoying for me so that i don’t have to”. but Frasier is ok, it’s sophisticated humor and plenty of puns make up for that “flaw”… oh dear god, Niles, we’ve stumbled upon hell’s waiting room!
